Kathi Coughlin

Kathelene "Kathi" Coughlin has provided fair housing training and legal representation to private housing providers, associations, and government entities throughout the country for the past twenty-five years. Currently, she serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Housing Institute, a full-service training and consulting firm for the housing industry. As a partner in The Law Firm of Coughlin & Kitay, P.C., Kathi provides defense and preventative representation for the housing industry in all civil rights matters with a unique expertise in the fair housing requirements of senior and federally assisted housing. She is a regular presenter at national and state housing conferences. Previously, Kathi served as Director of the Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Program for HUD's Southeast Region. During her career Kathi has directed and participated in the investigation, resolution, and litigation of thousands of fair housing cases. Ms. Coughlin obtained her undergraduate degree from Ball State University and her law degree from Indiana University at Indianapolis.
